Prague, 5 November 2024 – The Czech glassware brand KLIMCHI is opening its first boutique in the Czech Republic, located at one of Prague’s most prestigious addresses. To mark this occasion, the brand hosted a press conference at the historic Art Nouveau W Prague Hotel on Wenceslas Square.

Glass design enthusiasts can explore collections of hand-blown glass, including the iconic Hobnail jugs featuring the popular pineapple motif, famously showcased in the Hollywood hit Barbie. The opening of this flagship store celebrates KLIMCHI’s five-year anniversary, during which it has established itself as a successful bridge between traditional Czech glassmaking and modern design.

“The opening of our first brick-and-mortar store in Prague on Wenceslas Square feels like a symbolic gift for KLIMCHI’s fifth anniversary and marks the greatest milestone in our history so far. This step is crucial for us, as it allows our customers to connect directly with our world of glass and deepen their experience with our products. The boutique is located in the newly renovated Grand Hotel Europa, which houses the globally renowned W Hotels brand,” said Lukáš Klimčák, the founder of KLIMCHI.  

The boutique’s interior was designed by architect Sarah Myslíková in collaboration with František Jungvirt. Together, they created an airy and dynamic space with a seamless flow from the shop window into the interior. Rounded shelves stretch all the way to the ceiling, maximizing display space, while the neutral colour palette lets the vibrant glassware shine. Gold accents and fresh flowers enhance the luxurious atmosphere of the boutique.  

The new store offers customers the very best from the KLIMCHI portfolio. Shoppers can look forward to elegant vases, glasses, jugs, beer mugs, bowls, carafes, and other products designed to bring timeless beauty and functionality to everyday life.  

Whether it’s the Royal Marika collection inspired by the sparkle of sunlight, the popular Felicity vases with a crackled glass effect, or the minimalist Linea collection, there’s something for every design lover. The luxurious Drama vases, featuring diamond embellishments and gradient colours, and the slender Monochrome vases strike a perfect balance between contemporary style and the untamed beauty of nature.  

With Christmas approaching, KLIMCHI has introduced two special editions of hand-blown Christmas ornaments, combining exceptional craftsmanship with unique designs by František Jungvirt.  

“KLIMCHI has successfully established itself on the international market, delivering to more than 80 countries worldwide. We have strong partnerships, particularly in the United Kingdom, where we’ve achieved remarkable success. We are also thrilled to see a growing interest in high-quality design on the Czech market,” summarised Lukáš Klimčák, reflecting on the brand’s accomplishments over its five-year journey. Klimčák started building the company from scratch in his family’s glassworks in Kamenický Šenov.  

By partnering with W Prague, the world of KLIMCHI glass extends beyond the brand's first boutique. Vases, glasses, and other unique glass decorations will also become an integral part of the hotel’s interior. KLIMCHI products will adorn Le Petit Beefbar au Grand Café, the W Lounge, the Minus One bar, and individual suites.  

The hand-blown glass, with its vibrant colours and modern design, seamlessly complements the hotel’s distinctive Art Nouveau style. This collaboration with the established Czech glassmaking brand aligns with the philosophy of Marriott International, the parent company of W Hotels. Marriott strives to promote local businesses and artistry in every country it operates in. In the Czech Republic, it found its artistic partner in KLIMCHI.
